Kevin joined the roster just prior to the 2001 season starting. Having played on Checkmate (as well as captain) during the 2000 season, he had some experience playing speedball already. That first season with the BQPL conditioned Kevin as well in what it takes to be a competitive level player. With Checkmate not looking like they were going to return to the BQPL for the 2001 season, Tim and Rick snatched him up before another team did. Kevin brought with him a vital ingredient that Rampage was in need of. "Dedication". Kevin personifies this incomparably. He is a tried and true Rampage player, devoted to the one team and one team alone. This is a difficult thing to find in our sport with players "jumping ship" any chance they get to play on another team. With this dedication Rampage can build a strong core and not have to rebuild the team every year to survive. Dedication was not the only thing that Kevin brought with him. He also brought drive. This drive is what makes the team grow as well as himself. He wants to practice all the time. He wants to push us. He wants to build our skill to be the best in the league as well as compete on a higher level in tournaments. He wants to succeed! The drive is what motivates the rest of the team to move forward and to never quit.
Dedication and drive are two major facets of an exemplary player but if you suck, youre going to be gazing through the net from the wrong side a majority of the time. Kevin has proven his skill. Being a back player on the field puts him in an area where he has to protect his tape runners throughout the game. Everyone knows that 90% of the time when the forwards push too much, the back player is the person that has to close out the game. Kevin's ability to "stay alive" in these heated situations has paid off a number of times in his career as he has come out on top of 2 on 1 scenarios more than once. This skill has earned Kevin an MVP award every year he has played.
