Rick is one of the founding members of the team and took over as Captain during the 2001 season. Rick started out in the sport like most of the "old school" players with a pump gun before moving up to the ranks of semi auto. He toyed with a spyder for a short period but instead of tricking it out to the point of no return, he jumped on the automag/nitrogen express. Thats when he knew that tournament ball was going to be a major part of his playing. So not stopping at the 'mag, he purchased a beautiful Eclipse Angel LED in Smart Parts crazy black splash (black base with silver and red slashing). Rick says, "This gun has changed my life blah blah blah". Rick hit the tournament scene when he and Tim formed their first team in 1997, a group of friends that enjoyed playing rec-ball together and wanted a little more. They banded together to play the first Skyball Tournament in Toronto, Canada in the spectacular SkyDome facility. Out of nearly 20 teams in their division, they placed 7th. Not bad for their first taste of tourney ball in the big leagues. This was a huge learning experience for Rick. In 1999, Rick tried out for a team from the Kingston / Brockville area by the name of Roadblock. They liked his playing ability, his aggressive, "up front" style and during that year helped the team compete in the Golden Triangle Series (GT). Roadblock finished 2nd overall for the 1999 season of GT, which at the time was the premier Ontario/Quebec paintball league.
Ricks aggressive style earned him respect in the BQPL as well by being the first player to rip to the 50 yard line right off the break, thus blowing most games wide open for the rest of the guys to mop up. But this wasn't a one time thing; Rick was carving the field so much that teams were putting all 3 of their guns on him hoping to sweet spot him, allowing the other guys to buzz to better positions. This earned Rick his "Superstar" status. Tactics change but the thought is always there, "is Rick going for the 50?". Keeps them on their toes! This playing style provided him with 3 MVP awards in the 2001 BQPL season; more than anyone else in the league. During the 2002 BQPL season Rick pulled down another MVP award as well as being the leader in flag pulls for the team at the GT events that Rampage participated in. When Rampage is involved in SupAir/Hyperball tournaments, Rick is the one looking to play the snake bunker. He loves diving in or over the snake and crawl up a tape to come after ya! Believe it or not Rick dont mind getting dirty to make the move.
Rick is also an active member of the BQPL Board of Directors, serving as Vice President. He has filled that role since the birth of the league and has been instrumental in the leagues formation.
